Acupuncture or electro-acupuncture (EAP)

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese healing method in which fine needles are inserted into certain regions of the body. These are intended to stimulate and restore the body’s own regulatory mechanisms, and to stimulate self-healing powers. It is therefore a stimulation therapy at specific acupuncture points along various meridians (so-called energy pathways) that run throughout the body and are assigned to corresponding organs and nerves.

Electro-acupuncture according to Dr. Voll (EAV) takes up this principle and applies electric current via the acupuncture needle, which has a therapeutic effect on the diseased tissue. The measurement of the stimulation current at the defined acupuncture points provides information about the local conductivity of the tissue, about the functional state and about the tolerance of medication.
