Cat cough

Cat cough is a sudden expulsion of breath from the cat’s lungs. Possible causes can be foreign bodies in the cat’s respiratory tract, such as hair, threads or grasses that are inhaled. A common infectious cause can be chronic bronchitis (feline asthma) as an allergic reaction. This becomes noticeable through shortness of breath and retching at the end of the cat’s cough. Cat lovers who observe a cough that lasts too long in their own cat should consult a veterinarian or veterinary practitioner. Among other things, the practice can check whether an existing tumour is possibly the decisive cause of the cat cough.
