Obesity

According to a study by the LMU Munich (Germany), about 50% of all pet dogs and cats suffer from obesity (overweight/obesity).

Lack of exercise, too rich and not species-appropriate food supply, age, breed specificity as well as castration and metabolic diseases can lead to increased accumulation of fatty tissue in the body.

If the first signs of obesity, such as weight gain, sluggishness and shortness of breath, are overlooked, permanent obesity can lead to cardiovascular disease, organ fatty degeneration, shortness of breath, lameness and diabetes.
