Urticaria (hives, nettle rash)

Urticaria is also known as hives and nettle rash. It is an allergic reaction of the animal skin and manifests itself in the form of wheals, redness and itching. Triggers can be, for example, bites and stings from insects (e.g. fleas, ticks, mites or black flies). But food allergies, stress or grass pollen can also trigger urticaria. Each animal reacts differently to the possible triggers.
